Om Shreem Maha Lakshmiyei Namaha

Hindu Goddess Lakshmi is the embodiment of beauty and abundance. She is the source of courage, worshipped by gods for the flowering of knowledge and wisdom. Lakshmi represents all kinds of wealth – hence she is worshipped for abundance in generosity, beauty, compassion, material wealth, and loving kindness.

Lakshmi’s four arms represent four directions in space, symbolizing omnipresence or the four goals of human life – dharma, kāma, artha, and moksha  (righteousness, genuine desires, wealth, and liberation).
She typically stands or sits on a lotus pedestal, holding a lotus in her hand, symbolizing fortune, self-knowledge, and spiritual liberation. The lotus grows from water, but it is not wetted by it.
